| Scaled Solutions routinely assesses corrosion inhibitor performance using a range of electrochemical and weight loss laboratory techniques to simulate operational field conditions. Results from these tests also yield important information on oil/water partitioning, film persistency and chemical/fluid compatibility issues. |

| Corrosion Testing Research and Development |
Scaled Solutions is currently undertaking a research programme which is partly funded by the Teaching Company Scheme (TCS). The objective is to develop a reliable corrosion monitoring methodology using electrochemical techniques in oil and water emulsions and in very low water cut systems under appropriate oilfield conditions.

Coupon Testing
Coupon weight loss tests monitor corrosion rate, (MPY), as an indicator of CI performance. Examination by optical microscopy or SEM is used to characterise localised pitting.[ASTM G31, NACE Standard TM-01-69]

Bubble Cell Testing
Bubble testing equipment is routinely used at Scaled Solutions Ltd for initial chemical selection under low shear conditions. The impact of other production chemicals on the effectiveness of a corrosion inhibitor is also assessed in field chemical selection studies.

RCE Testing
Rotating Cylinder Electrode (RCE) test systems are used at Scaled Solutions to test corrosion inhibitors under high shear stress or turbulent regimes.
